Privacy Policy
Effective September 25, 2026
Anchor is built so that your memories stay yours. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
What you save
Notes, voice transcriptions, photos, screenshots and scans are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, they sync through your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), which only you can access. The developer has no servers and cannot see your data.
On-device intelligence
Text recognition, image labeling and the extraction of people, places, dates and to-dos run on your device using Apple frameworks. When Apple Intelligence is available, titles and summaries are generated by Apple’s on-device model.
Microphone and speech
The microphone is used only while you dictate. Speech is transcribed on device where supported; on devices without on-device recognition, Apple’s speech service may process the audio under Apple’s privacy policy. Audio is never stored by Anchor.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only when you scan a document. Photos you choose are copied into Anchor; Anchor cannot see the rest of your library.
Siri, Spotlight and widgets
Anchor adds your memories to your device’s Spotlight index so Siri and Search can find them. This index stays on your device.
Links
When you save a web link, Anchor fetches that page’s title directly from the website, like a browser would.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive no payment details.
Children
Anchor is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Deleting your data
Delete any memory in the app, or delete the app. To remove synced data, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.
Changes and contact
We’ll update this page if anything changes. Questions: open a request.
